Abstract

Cyclophosphamide(CPHO) is nitrogen mustard-derivative alkylating antineoplastic agent. Man ufacturer recommends that ¥³ admixture should be used within 6 hours after diluting because CPHO did not include the preservative. We studied stability of CPHO at ¥³ admixture in room temperature. We used two methods to prove stability. One was checking the microbial growth, the other was checking the change of contents by elapse time. CPHO was diluted in 5% dextrose and normal saline at 1, 10, 20§·/§¢. Microbial growth and the change of content were checked by sterility test and HPLC analysis with 0, 4, 7, 24, 28 hours after diluting, respectively. The concentration of CPHO in sample remained 90-110% of initial concentration throughout study period. Any microbial growth was not noted. Therefore, storage of CPHO in room temperature is possible until 24 hours after diluting.
